New models of mobiles, Smartphones, tablets, etc., are constantly developed and launched into the flat panel market. Optical elastomeric resin is an adhesive material used for the display panels of such electronic devices. In the flat panel market, swiftness of product development and evolution is essential.

Accordingly, I believe that sales activities should accurately identify the technological trend and lead the direction in product development.

Resin characteristics differ depending on the client

The method for bonding components such as displays and cover lenses and resin materials together varies depending on the client.

Therefore, resin characteristics must be appropriately selected according to the combination of components and the process. My duty is listening to requests from the clients, and technically translating them.

Eliminating “irregularity” in the LCDs

In the case of LCDs, “irregularity” may occur because of the bonding process. You may have seen the change of image quality if you directly push a LCD with your finger. If such a change occurs constantly in image quality, it constitutes “irregularity.”

By analyzing a LCD and conducting a model analysis of stress distribution, we found that such “irregularity” is caused by the cure shrinkage stress of resin.

Consequently, we developed an optical elastomeric resin which is resistant to “irregularity” based on these analysis results, and high transparency, high adhesiveness and low stress technologies which we successfully developed in the optical field over a long period of time in the past.
